Live edge Pear wood

Live edge Pear wood

A Live edge lidded vessel made from locally harvested pear wood. Although I do like the design of this box, I feel that with the fragility of the live edge, i don't think it is practical on this container. The finial is ok, I wish i had spent a few more minutes on finishing it...
You've probably been turning longer than me, but my taste would like to see the neck of the finial be a little thinner, or the tip a little sharper. The delicate live edge does not match the finial. I think having a consistant theme of delicacy would mean that the finial should be a little more refined. The shapes are all good.

That's looks good to me. I'm not experienced enough to make any comment on the design, but as it turns out I have some local pear wood. I would love to use your idea. Thanks for sharing.
