Oak Burl made whole with resin...

Oak Burl made whole with resin...

Large, heavy piece, around 20" across. It was a tough effort and I'm glad its finished, but in the end it was worth it.
Beautiful looking piece. The contrast draws the eyes in.
How did you seal the 2 sides to keep the epoxy in, and was the epoxy short or long set?

I make a mold around the blank while it is a whole round. The long set epoxy is thin enough to find its way into all the nooks and crannies. No pressure pot or vacuum needed.
