African Blackwood, paua abalone, and mother-of-pearl. Made from a clarinet/oboe bell discard. Finished with NC lacquer. 3"w x 2.75"h.

Michael, NC lacquer is nitrocellulose lacquer, as opposed to acrylic lacquer. If a rattle can lacquer doesn’t say that it’s acrylic, it’s most likely nitrocellulose (eg Deft).

And what difference have you found between
Nitrocellulose and acrylic lacquer I have used Deft a few times but I don’t remember what I used it on.
The Turtle box is so nice. Not enough words can be said about the turtle setting!

They both spray pretty much the same. However, nc lacquer will yellow with age (think of the top of a vintage guitar), while acrylic lacquer doesn’t. This isn’t an issue on a darker wood, but will become apparent as a lighter wood piece ages.
