Laminations Galore

The segmented woodturners chapter has a challenge underway to design a piece incorporating N-generation laminations. A zig-zag is called a 1st gen lamination. If you cut up a zig-zag and reglue it, you get a 2nd gen lamination. This piece is 8" tall and contains one zig-zag and two 2-gen laminations. Woods are figured silver maple, hard maple, katalox, chatka viga, and yellowheart. Challenging but a fun project.
Holy moly, Al. Fantastic piece. The segmenting is incredible, of course, but so is the form. What's not to like.

Outstanding Al! That is one bold feature ring! Cumulative error becomes the challenge with these multigenerational glue ups; it looks like you’ve navigated that challenge expertly! This piece Rocks!!
