Good Luck Birds

I've made a couple dozen of these in the last few years. The original idea came from an Egyption art exhibit where I saw the god Thoth, a man with an Ibis head. From there I just used some of my other woodturning ideas that bounce around in my head. I call them Good Luck Birds and they sell pretty fast. This is a group that I just finished, l -r Swamp oak, Maple, White Oak, Gambel oak. The heads are rough turned and then carved with a dremel tool. 10-12" tall.
