Quilted Thai Rosewood Tower Box

Quilted Thai Rosewood Tower Box

I had just enough extra Thai Rosewood leftover from the capsule box I made a few months ago to turn this tower box! This box, turned from Thai Rosewood (Dalbergia cochinchinensis) features my signature cooling tower style, a domed lid, chamfered edges and a raised foot. Turned, hollowed, and finished with gloss lacquer. Size is 1 3/4" tall x 1 3/4" diameter. This style of box seems very popular here on the forum, so I am trying out this shape on different woods!
The shadow line produced by the raised foot is very effective, Gabriel. Nice wood - never had the pleasure to turn any of that type of rosewood.

Great piece Gabriel, great picture! How did you light this…no shadows?? This tower form in this size is such eye candy…keep entertaining us!

Thanks Russ. I use a photo booth with the light in the front. Then I get really close with the camera.
