#2134 African Zebrawood.

#2134 African Zebrawood.

Don't know why Zebrawood doesn't sell particularly well, because the light and dark contrast is so outstanding. Zebrawood turns very easily. This one is 7 5/8" x 2", and 8.5oz. Sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall buffed. Sold for $165.

Very nice! I agree. I can't figure why some woods I think have a lot of "character" don't sell right away and others do. Guess it doesn't match the wallpaper. Wish I could get my hands on a piece of it big enough for a large tall hollow form.

Thanks Randy...... :)

Trying to second guess the buying public is a losing proposition sometimes.....and, Zebrawood is on that list of mysteries.

Very nice odie bowl and as always well done.
Zebrano is a very beautiful wood. It has intense grain and colors. I believe that it performs better visually on smaller objects.

Thanks Dimitris..... :)

Yes, that could very well be the case!

I like the shape and the contrasting colors.
Thanks Vincent...... :)

Yeah, I really like this wood too. It's not that difficult to find either. For whatever reason, Zebrawood bowls, in spite of the outstanding grain pattern, just doesn't seem to move as well as I would have thought.

I have made bowls from spalted hickory and spalted maple. My wife likes plain wood better, so yes, some people like contrast others don't.

Excellent bowl Odie! Some of us out here love Zebrawood bowls….you just have to find us!!
