Curly Bradford Pear Calabash

Although the Portland symposium was a blast, I was definitely missing my lathe. It was fun to come back and turn this small calabash as a gift for a friend. I roughed this out last year, and have been looking forward to the final turning for a while. Seemed about the right time. I really enjoy working with Bradford Pear, especially when you can lucky with beautiful figure. Finished with Tried & True danish oil and varnish oil. 5.5"d x 2.5"h.
Here are a few additional views. @Bob Hall you wanted to see the finished bowl. The varnish oil worked great. I was happy with the amount of sheen, so I simply hand rubbed it with a soft cloth and called it a day.
