This one combines five of my favorite hobbies: woodturning, polymer clay crafting, epoxy resin casting, laser engraving & glow-in-the-dark...all on this hard maple yo-yo.
Thanks...the artwork is attached to a pre-baked polymer clay cabochon using a process called "water soluble image transfer". Google it...you'll find all sorts of art to transfer from paper to clay or other smooth/porous/sticky surfaces. You can also print your own art on this special water-soluble paper. Here's a pretty good how-to video:
Thanks...I spend a lot of time watching YouTube how-to videos on making jewelry, knives and other crafts to get ideas for embellishing woodturnings. The artwork idea for this yo-yo came from the jewelry making hobby.
