Cardinal Ornaments

I know it’s not Christmas, but I did these to teach some classes at the Gourd Fest in Pa. in June. I wanted to combine wood and gourds. I wanted to do a finial and icicle but they didn’t line up well because gourds may look round but are not perfect at all. Remembering I had seen pictures of Tom Galls ornaments on here I got rid of the bottom icicle so not to have to line things up. “So Thanks Tom Gall for your inspiration”. Turned finial and cap with wood burned feather or holly leaf on the bottom. Acrylic paint was used, while parts of the gourds showed the natural color.
Great looking ornaments and color coordination with the finials, Joan. Love the cardinals and I admire your painting skills. Glad the "articulated" joints helped with your problem. I had the same problem with some pierced duck eggshell ornaments quite a few years ago - looked perfect but were not.
