Scales

Bradford Pear bowl, turned, carved, woodburned, and partly ebonized via India ink. I wanted this to appear as if there were a bunch of individual pieces layered on top of a solid core. 7.25”d x 3.25”h.
The black areas are all carved 1/16” deep and then textured with a woodburner skew tip. Here are a few alternative views:
