Echoes I
A finialed hollow form in spalted Norway maple and TransTint dyed holly. The finial includes a replication of the hollow form vessel just under the spike. The original block of maple weighed about 55 ounces. The finished piece including the finial weighs 4.5 ounces. This piece is one of the "Black Finial Series" that I turned for the Chesapeake Woodturners' Winter Exhibit.

INCREDIBLE piece!!!! Very delicate and well proportioned!!! Now ya did it....my wife wants me to make HER one.

I have just started really working on finials, hop I can do as well.
 
This slender form is just wonderful and the beautiful finial crowns it in a very special way. Just wonderful Allen.
 
Thanks for kind words gentlemen. FYI: I found out earlier today that "Echoes I" co-won the Best-in-Show award at the Chesapeake Woodturners' juried Winter Exhibition...
