"Soup's On"

A leggy, lidded vessel turned and carved from birch. The smooth area at the top was shaped using the lathe but everything below the tops of the legs is carved. My hat is off to those that can hand carve a vessel and leave a well finished surface suitable for a natural finish. My hat is also off to those that know when it's time to use textures on a surface. I used a cabbing machine to hand shape a piece of serpentine for a lid pull.
