This was out of a hunk of somewhat punky maple burl, that developed a nice spalting. A bit soft, but it came out. Finished with shellac sealer, then several hand applied coats of Resisthane. About 6" in diameter and 5" high
Resisthane looks interesting. Had never heard of it. Water based shellac. Don’t need to sand between coats. How does it compare to Polycrylic? Spray or foam brush?

I cut it with alcohol and hand apply it. Dries in a couple minutes and I sand in between coats with 400 or 600 grit. I could never get the same results with polycrylic. Here's the website that has a description...
