Arbutus Menziesii

Arbutus Menziesii

This piece of Arbutus came from a local storm damaged tree and was in my stash of rough turned bowls waiting to be final turned. Its a large stash and there are a few hidden gems like this one. This burl is near perfect with no voids or stress cracks and makes a wonderful salad bowl. It's large at 16" X 6" and finished with 7 coats of tung oil. There is a small area of live edge as can be seen in the photo.
