Pyromania

Figured Maple vase, constructed/ deconstructed on the bandsaw. It was reassembled using some Jerry Bennett techniques that are hazily remembered from many years ago! I started burning the piece and could not stop hence the name!! A few firsts: 1) First time cutting on the finger; I highly suggest adding this "jig" to your shop!! (see Jerry Bennett's shop tour) 2) First time using a torch on a segmented piece. 3) First time gluing more than two sections back together after deconstruction.
The project turned out great, Russ! I really like how you rounded the edges of each section. Definitely takes it to the next level. All around awesome!

What a fun piece. I have torched some segmented pieces over the years but this turned out cool. Mine just looked good in the firepit.

Great vision even if it was a bit foggy in the early goings. Really turned out great Russ!
I really wasn’t feeling this piece when Jerry Bennett chimed in that every piece has its dark moments. He urged me to keep on working at it; sage advice from the Maestro! Don’t quit, finish it!!
