Four Play

Apple turned on 8 centers. The "tree" was bent laminated walnut with carved pieces added onto the base. Many many coats of sponge painted color with some irridescent paint added to the pyrography and base.

Wounderful, imaginative, impossible piece, well executed. Can you tell us size? And clarify, if this is a single piece of wood, or just what? Did I mention, impossible?

Wasn’t sure if you counted the same bowl twice, or you counted something else that I couldn’t figure out. Makes sense now.

This project would make a great demo, but I imagine that spinning a 16” board off center would sound like a propeller and that might scare some people too much.

Karl it actually wasnt scary at all. I had the piece hit glues to a 30" wooden faceplate with a counter balance so it sun smoothly and quietly.

Initially, I thought that this was very creative, but didn't notice that it was a multi-axis turning. Now, that I see the four bowls are a single multiaxis turning I'm doubly impressed. John, keep on pushing the boundaries.
