Cool idea with the inlays!

Pretty neat! What was the inspiration? Makes me think of a snake skin.

Thanks. The pattern was loosely based on a Japanese ceramic tea cup that I saw. The artist had used glaze to create an organic pattern of stripes that "flowed" over the edge. That got me thinking about patterns on the edge instead of on the side. I also like that an edge pattern could highlight that the inlay was through the thickness. I was also hoping that a more "organic" shape would give it a different look as compared to patterns created by segmented turning techniques
