1940 Red Mallee Burl.

Some of you will remember the thread about this bowl, when I thought it would be a total loss:

There is a huge pitch pocket in the bottom of the interior that was very close to coming through to the other side. As is, it's close, but I got away with it, and it sold!

Original block was 16% MC, and after roughing, it took 15 months to stabilize for final turning. 7 1/2" x 3 1/16", 14.6 oz, sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buff. Has all the usual attributes of burls...voids, bark inclusions, etc
