Torched, Dyed, and Sliced Hollow Form

Torched, Dyed, and Sliced Hollow Form

Ash. Burned to highlight the growth rings and dyed red. Sliced with an arc and reassembled with Wenge pewa. About 5″ diameter, 3″ tall. Lacquer finish.
Nice one, Dave. The color adds another dimension. One slice or two? I assume you buffed this out because I can see a lot of fibers when I enlarged the photo - probably from the open edges. :)

This was two parallel slices thru the bandsaw to make the ~1/4" gap.
And yes, I took this from the buffer to the photo table and forgot to wipe it down first. Of course, I didn't notice that till I had put the photo gear away and reviewed the photos upstairs on the computer. Being lazy, I didn't retake the pics. :)
