I like the form of the top and the lower form (foot/base), Doug ...... but not together. It looks disjointed to me. Maybe if the line was continuous ... ??? Just my 2¢! Others MMV.
The finish and the wood are beautiful and the detailed foot is very nice.

Appreciate the input Tom. To clarify, are you talking about the transition from the bottom up to the "globe" portion, where the transition gets a bit sharp? And your suggestion is a more gradual transition?

It’s almost like an inch of height has been removed to my eye…..my 02 cents worth about half that amount!

Yes and yes. And perhaps, to extend the lower curve of the upper form (making it taller) - I think that is what Russ was referring to. Or even make it a stand-alone form - no pedestal needed. Of course, then you would have to hollow a little deeper! :)
