Turned, carved Osage Orange from right outside my shop. We've cleared a lot of trees around the place the last few months.

I also often miss questions or comments until months later. Oops.

Those handled bowls are a lot of fun to make. I've been experimenting with different ways of treating the bands (smooth, random carving, removed entirely, patterned carving, etc) and handles (one, two, random numbers, odd shapes, different textures...). They're so satisfying to hold, like little intimate and useful bits of sculpture.. I'll be teaching a class in bowls with handles and feet at John C Campbell Folk School next summer. Looking forward to that a lot.
