Yes Karl. I use a colwood wood burning set with fixed tips. The scale of this series helped me learn some new techniques for shading. All of my luminaries are a pyrographed in some way or another. Joe, truely phenomenal! obviously from the slide show you've been doing this for a while. how thin do you have to make your vessel in order to pierce?

Dave - I am lazy when it comes to the piercing part so I try to get as close to 1 mm as I can without letting too much light through

Thickness of these pieces varies from 0.5mm to 2.3mm.
