Cherry Milking Stool

Cherry Milking Stool

Legs and seat turned. 17" tall 9" diameter. One of my first completed projects. My background is in furniture construction so my interest in the lathe starts there. Figured it would be good to see some "Old School" turning here lest people forget there are still some folks out there who still do this stuff, not just bowls, goblets and art turning.
Great! Congratulations on the POD!

I admired your things and should have congratulated you before now. I appreciate the functional as well as the artistic and glad to know someone turns the functional too.

This is one beautiful milking stool, however as I remember the one I had to use was
(1) not cherry,
(2) only one legged on which I had to balance on, hold the pail between my knees, the cows tail tucked in the back of my knee to keep from getting swatted as she worked the flies, and pull and squeeze.

Very beautiful, too good to take to the barn.
