This bowl turned fine, but there was some mold stains from anchorsealing the log which would not go away. For a lark, the bowl was sanded then burned with a torch before sanding and finishing with wipe on poly
Nice bark edge, Kirk. I like the burned effect. Is that the mounting tenon on the bottom?
My personal preference would be a narrower foot - or perhaps, altering the exterior curve to include the tenon. Just my 2¢ !

What you are seeing is the foot, which is connected to the exterior curve with a cove. Clearly this view did not show it well. The tenon was cut off below that cove, leaving the foot.
