Emiliano's Twist
Brian Horais

Emiliano's Twist

This 5-inch diameter bowl was turned from a leftover block of Earpod that Emiliano sent me in early 2020 to make items for his local church's fund raiser. I had this block left after making two items and it sat on the shelf for a few years. Recently it started 'talking' to me and I decided to make a half-twist bowl in Emiliano's honor. Finish is Watco oil.
I really like this! Classy turning! Not many turners have the luck in their lifetime to develop something that separates them from the crowd. You have achieved that. I can always tell a "Horais" signature piece when I see it before I even read the title. This one is extra special. Saint Father Damien wood. Well done Brian.

Thanks for those very kind words Emiliano. I'm not sure many turners are 'hooked' on multi-axis turning like I am, but I will continue my crusade to convert more wood turners to my twisted way of turning. See you in Chattanooga!
