The body is one piece walnut and the lid is one piece spalted maple. The urn measures 4" diameter by 6" tall with an internal volume of 50 cubic inches. The threads are 2" - 11 cut directly into the wood. The urn is finished with spray lacquer and the lid is finished with CA.
I am assuming that you are referring to "Model KWLC0406050" K=keepsake, W=walnut, L=lacquer, C=threaded lid contrasting wood, 04=4" (100mm) diameter,06=overall height and 050=internal volume in cubic inches. The threads are machine cut on a metal lathe, which I have an adapter to mount a 1 1/4" - 8 scroll chuck to hold the work piece on the metal lathe. The threads are cut with a small router mounted to the cross slide. The process is much the same as cutting threads in metal except for the addition of the router.
