Model BWLS1003 Walnut and Birch pie segmented bowl from a board.
The board for this project was an 8 pie segmented board without a hole in the center that I made to see if I could get the points to match in the middle and it resulted in a round about 10.5" (266mm) diameter X 0.78" (20mm). The technique to get a none conical bowl is from a post titled "a bowl from a board does not need to be conical" and I added the staggered joints to hopefully keep the joints from openning up due to wood movement.
Nice job on those points Don; I’ll love to hear if your staggering of this area prevents the typical joint failures common with this design.
