Hand Spalted Maple and Walnut, 12" x 8". Removeable finial. My first attempt at a "twist". Comments appreciated
Much better picture of very nice work. I like the wood, form, finish and design.
How did you lay this one out?
 
Thanks, ByGeorge, for your suggestion about the size of the photo. I need to learn more about sizing! Layout: I made a tiltable flat table that fits into the tool rest receiver, tilted it at the desired angle, and traced around the edge with a pencil. To cut the spiral grooves I used an Automach hand carving tool. Shaping was with a Dremel and sanders. Again, many thanks.
