Sitting Work

Thanks to folks like Stewart Furini and Gary Lowe for putting up Youtube videos on how to do stuff like this with color embellishing. This is Big Leaf Maple (4.5 x 4.5). The top of the hollow vessel is dyed with spirit stain and the body is painted with iridescent paints. This is so much fun to experiment with....plus it gives me a bit of rest when I cannot stand at the lathe but can sit and still be productive as this technique can be done on or off the lathe.
Love the look with the paints. Did you use a brush to create the leaf like patterns? I have only used an air brush with the iridescent paints to create the cosmic cloud look.
