46 and Counting

Our 46th wedding anniversary is rapidly approaching so I decided to make a small (5 inch tall) gift vase for my wife that captures her beauty and character. Her favorite color is green, so I embellished the upper ring with pyrography and green coloring. The beautiful grain patterns in this spalted wood (maple?) reflect the beauty and character of my wife that has sustained us over these 46 years, with many more to come. Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall system.
