Cleveland Indians ball cap with Chief Wahoo logo. The ball cap is curly maple, the baseball is bleached sugar maple and the base is sapodilla burl. This was custom made for Bill Blasic.
@Scott Lynn It is one piece. What is turned looks like a pith helmet or a jungle hat and the sides are cut off with a bandsaw leaving a Sherlock Holmes looking hat with a brim on the front and back. The hat is put in a bender squeezing it into an oval and the bill of the cap is bent to a cupped shape using rubber bands and a bill bender. Heat is introduced at 12 hours after turning then, when it is completely dry and after 12 hours of applied heat and a few days in the bender the back bill is removed, the hat is sanded and the bill is sanded to shape. The logo is hand pyro-engraved and painted then finished with pre-catalyzed lacquer.
