I’ve been working on employing pyrography on some of my turning projects. Took about an hour-and-a-half for the Celtic Knot around the rim, about a half hour for the praying hands.
This platter (11-1/2” in diameter) is White Ash, which (IMHO) is a tough wood to burn on. The summer growth in the annular rings is soft, while the winter growth is so hard it is hard to control the depth the pen is burning, and stay on line.
