Cosmic Chaos

This is my third Malcolm Tibbetts-inspired ribbon project; I made this one from rustic cherry. The design began as two 6-inch bowls, each made from 16 staves. The outer ribbon surface is carved and painted using Metal Effects bronze reactive paint. The base is turned from laminated poplar, carved, and then painted black. The current state of our world inspired the name. This piece measures 14 x 5-1/2 x 5-1/2 inches.
