Cave 7

Another piece inspired by James Shaffner Wetherill's book. When Richard Wetherill discovered Cave 7 it had been excavated previously but he dug a little deeper finding the first basket maker site in North America 3-4 feet below the old cliff dweller site. The piece was made segmented out of holly. It is six inches in diameter and 12 inches tall. Hope to explore this concept more in the future.
Beautiful work. It sent me on a GExpedition (Google Expedition). Fascinating reading about the life and times of Richard Wetherill and the Chaco Canyon area in the late 1800.
