I'm hosting Guilio Marcolongo for a week. When he was here 2 years ago we run out of time and we didn't work on the burl. Burls in Koa are very rare, I have never even seen one prior to this one. Since I have zero experience turning burls, I was afraid to practice with my one in a million Koa burl. We used it a class in Burl turning for Wayne Omura and myself. Thank you Guilio, your masterpiece is now in my Koa table in the living room! Measures 18 in wide as it widest, 5 in tall. Finished with Deft lacquer.
