This is a piece of Apple i recently finish turned after it dried for a year or so and it was needing a bit of work to make it pop,i decided i would add some texture work i learned in j paul fennell s class.
I really like it but after taking photos i think the background needs more work, i think the stippling needs to be softer and more uniform. Let me know what you think
Apple wood with oil and urethane topcoat from general finishes with a buff.

I'm impressed. Don't understand what you mean by the stippling needs to be softer and more uniform. It looks very well done to me, and in my opinion, for most things, more uniform is less attractive.
