"Bisbee"

I turned this Olneya Tesota vessel a month ago intending to fill the myriad cracks with molten pewter. It wasn't working to my satisfaction so I shrugged and tossed it up on the shelf hoping for a message from the muse on how to proceed.....
She whispered earlier in the week...
I didn't want to use resin, too synthetic, and filling all the cracks with turquoise seemed like too much color so I opted to try mixing some turquoise with powdered copper-a good mineral association and combined with the Desert Ironwood gives it a decidedly Arizona aura. I made several tops with hand chased threads till I ended up with one that I liked. No finish. Sanded to 2000g and buffed. The buffing helps the copper appear very metallic.
