Working on some new techniques - Pouring, resists, dissimilar mediums. Trying to make an adventure in flipping - one side with an unexpected other side. But they still need to speak to each other... I thought the top should have some untouched wood, since the bottom is all covered in paint.

Turned by Mark Hall from a spalted maple we took down in our yard. It's a 12" bowl.
Depends on where you look, but I see a sort of mountains in the background with water in the fore ground at the bottom of the bowl and the grains in the middle sort of looking at the mountains thru tree trunks. Very cool Carol and Mark
 
I wish I could show the back side, but I have never been able to attach a pic to a comment. I'm glad you found a way to see this piece and shared. So fun. I appreciate you spending time looking.
