Neat wood. Is this "aged," or does it have that pattern from habit of growth? With the dark deposits, is it a pungent wood when turning?
As I recall, pistachios were not too large, or perhaps they were still too young when I last toured the valley at ground level. Is the habit with them to renew after twenty years or so like the other nut trees?
I received this from Rude Osolnik almost 15-20 years ago ... seems to me he said this was about as big as they get. The grain just seems to be all over the place. Thanks for the comments, hope this helps/
