Just wondering what the side of this box looks like? It looks stained or burned...
I love the burning for the cap!

Thanks for the comment, Jim. The wood is post oak that was stained with undiluted TransTint dye. I think that the color was walnut. Then it was finished with gloss lacquer. The cap pattern was made by drawing clockwise and counterclockwise spirals and then burning the pattern to add the shading and depth.

There isd another view that show the side view with the cap on.
