Beech vessel with gesso & ink decoration

Wow! This is a stunning piece. The free-flow application of the india ink looks like see grass blowing in the breeze. It could be a black and white photo of the beach. I love this!

George, wow is the word! this really is beautiful. It's the first piece of yours I've seen, and it is striking. I like the matte finish, And the black-and-white photographic quality.

The texture of the gesso is a nice and interesting contrast with the wood itself.

The shape of the turning is also very pleasing to the eye.

I really like this piece.

This is a real eye-catcher. The shape is well balanced to my eye. The texture works with the fine ink work. Well done.

Great piece, Geroge. These two pieces with gesso and acrylics are new to me and are super techniques. A question for this piece - does the rough texture of the gesso influence the pattern of the ink when you apply it? To my eye the natural color of the wood detracts. Have you tried coloring the inside? Maybe black gesso?

Thank you for all of your comments

@Breck Whitworth - a 1/4" paint brush

@Hal Taylor - the texture does effect the shape of the ink slightly, I have done several with black interiors, i will have to upload a pic of one tomorrow as I did not realise there was a 4 image daily limit which I have already accidentally exceeded.
