Very creative and well done! I've certainly never managed to get a piece of redwood to look this good. I like the pyrography. Did you attempt to fill or otherwise stabilize the cracks before burning?
Thanks for the comments. No, I did nothing before I attempted to hide the thin cracks with a wood burning pen. The wood was quite dry, and the cracks were hidden inside. I tested various finishes on the redwood and they all darkened it, hence the buffing and carnuba wax. Dale
