I had to re-cut the arc on this vessel a couple of times to get it right, but am pretty well pleased with it now. It stands 10" tall. The top collar, lid and finial are Western Red Cedar.
I'm rather proud to say, this vessel was featured in the February issue of the UK's Woodturning Magazine in their Reader's Gallery, by request, after they'd seen it on a message board earlier. I'm very honored by that!
Well, it certainly is a piece well-deserving to be featured in a magazine. Really beautifully done. The form is graceful and I think the proportions are very pleasing, at least to my eye.
I'd say to you what I did to Odie on a piece of his a moment ago: it's work like this that inspires me as a new turner (but longtime in the arts - oils, other media). Thanks for posting it!
