I don't understad the name?

The name came from the original block of wood. The spalting pattern looked exactly like the face of the cartoon character "Thunder Cat" Unfortunately by the time the block was brought into round, it no longer looked like him but the name stuck!

I like this piece too Carole. But is there a light on the left side of the wood, or is that the wood? It's hard to tell if that is the wood color or just a streaking effect.

Jeff, that is the wood itself, not light. Actually, the streak is a little more pronounced than it is in the pic. I have never seen anything like it before.
