Swirly Ash HF

Here is the last piece I completed. This was done as my end of a turning trade with Dave Walters in Australia.

This piece of ash was turned to shape, sandblasted and finished with 4-5 coats of tung oil. The finial is African blackwood (of course)!

Approximately 6" wide x 9" tall (I am only guessing since I forgot to measure it before sending it to Australia)

Comments and complaints are encouraged! Thanks
very nice piece.
just curious...do the swirls go the other way once it gets to Australia?

Thats a great deal Scott, hope there are no traces of the little buggers still in there as they might cause problems at the border.
The form is spot on with a finial to match :)

It made it through customs just fine and Dave has it now. Whew! I did sandblast most traces of the little buggers away though.

Thanks for all the comments.

$%^&*()_ Ausies, get all the good stuff :) Good on ya Dave :cool2:pete

Scott, you have to be a Kiwi & live next door the these Guys :)

gorgeous piece & finial..but the elongated holes drive my eyes bats..maybe train your bugs to only do round holes? :)
