Sunflowers

This is a black walnut pot and lid, about 8 H x 5 W with an ebony finial. It was carved in deep relief and painted with acrylic Paint. Oil on the natural sections with a lacquer topcoat.
Great job with the sunflowers! I like the finial, too, but not sure if its formal shape goes all that well with the natural-looking sunflowers?
 
Thank you Gary. I dont really know how much time it took because I worked on this piece over several months. My guess would be 150 - 200.

I truly love the departure from Maple leaves, it adds another dimension to your work. I do like the other finial more than the one pictured here. Great job, can't wait to see what's next!
