Arctic Cave Spider No. 001

Arctic Cave Spider No. 001

All parts turned. Maple. 18" diameter x 24" tall. Lacquer finish.
Gary, at the top of the tail the horizontal spindle is balanced on the tip of the tail by the two small spindles at the ends of the stainless steel wire. They rotate and will move vertically with a slight breeze. The Arctic Cave Spider uses the tips to lure in unsuspecting victims for meals.

I offered to try to make one like this for my daughter to put on her nightstand. She declined, but we both think it's awesome!
