Xmas Turnings 2012

The offset wine spindle turnings were requested by my wife Diane and will be given to her close friend as a Christmas gift. The offset stems do give the wine glasses a little bit of character. As for the confectioners chocolate wine it was the only bottle in the house I could find. Have no idea how it tastes LOL. Each stem and base is 4 high with a 3 base centered under the glass. The wood is Padauk, having a beautiful color but really dusty when turned. Everything in the shop is now red! I see why they do not like to make guitars from this wood now.
Bill, I really like you wine glasses. Well done. Where do you buy the glass and how do you affix the glass to the stem?

Thank you Bill. Sorry, I have been away from the forum for awhile and did not see this post. I purchased the glasses from Craft Supplies along with the silicone sealant used to affix the glass stem to the Padauk stem. You can of course purchase your own glasses and cut the stems. Make sure the symmetry around the stem up into the glass allows you to rest the glass on the flare of the turned stem. Thanks again.
