Eucalyptus Burl

Eucalyptus Burl

Eucalyptus burl 10" x 4", turned, green, dried, returned and carved. Deft Semi-Gloss spray finish. This was my first (and will be my last) experience with eucalyptus burl. I found it hard, heavy, ropey and the prominent cracks in it subject to catches in both turning and carving. The form ended up fairly well with thick finger-like curves making up the bowl. Comments, good and bad very much solicited.
